Nux is a War Boy serving Immortan Joe at the Citadel. He is sick and receives a blood transfusion from the captured Max Rockatansky, a universal donor. Nux joins the pursuit of Furiosa and the wives, with Max strapped to his car. He attempts to sacrifice himself to blow up the War Rig but is restrained by Max, and Furiosa destroys his car. Later, Nux sneaks onto the Rig to kill Furiosa but is overpowered and thrown out. He rejoins Joe's army when it catches up. Sent to carjack the Rig, Nux stumbles and drops his weapon, to Joe's disgust. Capable finds him hiding in the Rig and consoles him. Moved by her compassion, Nux joins the group and helps get the Rig moving again. In the final battle, Nux sacrifices himself by wrecking the Rig to block the canyon, killing Rictus.

In Their Own Story

The dust tasted like copper and old blood. Nux slumped against the side of his car, the engine ticking as it cooled in the desert heat. His vision blurred, edges softening into green hues he had never seen before. He remembered the water, not the dry promise of the Citadel, but real rain falling on soil that grew life. He looked at the man beside him, breathing shallowly. Nux knew he would not ride again to Valhalla. There was no choir waiting for him now, only silence and the wind howling through the canyon. He reached out, gripping his own tank with trembling fingers, making a choice that mattered more than glory. The wasteland did not care about heroes, but today, it would remember this.
